Plan the electrical package around the building

New homes: identify lighting, receptacles, major appliances, HVAC equipment and the electrical needs of garages or outdoor spaces. Note planned EV charging or backup power early so these requirements can be included in the review.

Commercial buildings: provide the intended use, equipment schedules, lighting plans and tenant requirements. Identify owner-furnished equipment and clarify which connections belong in the electrical bid.

Coordinate before work reaches the field

Discuss utility interfaces, underground routes, sleeves and penetrations before related concrete and framing work is scheduled. Establish who is responsible for design documents, permits, inspections, equipment procurement and the coordination of other trades. Confirm the available services, responsible parties and agreed scope in writing before work begins.

Can I start before the plans are complete? Yes—send the current stage, location and intended work. Identify assumptions and unresolved selections so they can be discussed before a final proposal.

What changes the bid? Building size, service and equipment requirements, fixture selections, access, phasing and document completeness all affect the scope being priced. Send revisions and addenda with the same bid package.
